How to join GS1 in Asia-Pacific
Membership is open to only GS1 Member Organisations that share the vision of GS1 in Asia-Pacific and have signed the “Hong Kong Declaration”.

Our founding directors
Christopher Ang, CEO GS1 Singapore
Christopher Ang serves as the CEO of GS1 Singapore – a member organisation of GS1 Global and founding member of the Asia Pacific Green Alliance (APGA). He was formerly the Centre Director of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation - Centre for Corporate Learning. He has headed the SSG-accredited ATO (Approved Training Organisation) / CET Centre (Continuing Education & Training Centre) in areas of productivity & HRD consultancy, sales & marketing, training delivery & operations, curriculum development and career services since 2013.
Christopher brings with him 30 years of cross-functional leadership roles and experience. He is actively involved in proposing industry digitalisation, productivity & quality initiatives to various industries and companies, including medical, manufacturing, retail, and online businesses. He sits in the Technical Committee on Food Safety by Singapore Standards Council/ Enterprise Singapore, and Board Committee for Healthcare by GS1 Global.
Christopher holds a Master’s in Technology Management. He is an SSG DACE Certified Adult Educator and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He was also a Certified Practising Management Consultant (PMC-SBACC), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE-ASQ) and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI) during his industry/consultancy days.
Anna Lin, CEO GS1 Hong Kong
Anna has more than 30 years of CEO experience in steering the strategic direction of the organisation, spearheading major strategic innovative initiatives that have revolutionised the way companies do business locally and globally, helping HK business community thrive.
She has led GS1 Hong Kong to establish platforms, ecosystems and programmes that have driven industry adoption of global supply chain standards, practices and technologies for enhanced business efficiency, digital commerce and IoT development across industries.
Ms Lin attains Chartered Fellow (FCILT), granted by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2018, recognising her achievement and contribution to the industries in Hong Kong.
Maria Palazzolo, CEO GS1 Australia
Maria joined GS1 Australia in 1983, not long after it was founded. During her time with the organisation, Maria has been responsible for successfully implementing global standards for eCommerce applications within many companies in different industry sectors throughout Australia.
Maria has also been responsible for producing many industry specifications as well as collaborating on the introduction of eCommerce strategies in a range of industry sectors including defence and government.
Her extensive work with organisations such as the Australian Retailers Association, Australian Industry Group, National Association of Retail Grocers Australia, Australian Food and Grocery Council, Logistics Association of Australia and the Australian Industry Information Association gives her a wealth of experience in all aspects of supply chain management and technology development.

The secreteriat
Peter Stevens, CEO GS1 New Zealand
Dr Peter Stevens has been Chief Executive of GS1 New Zealand since January 2004 and sits on the GS1 Global Advisory Council representing GS1 Asia Pacific Member organisations.
Before joining GS1, Peter worked in senior roles at KPMG Consulting, Standards New Zealand and Apple Computer. He has served as a Senior Lecturer in IT marketing at Victoria University and an Adjunct Professor in Information Systems & Computing at Unitec.
Peter is a board member of the NZ Pacific Economic Collaboration Council (PECC) and an associate board member of the NZ International Business Forum.
Peter has post-graduate qualifications in science and marketing.
Currently the secretariat for GS1 in Asia-Pacific is being provided by GS1 Australia.
